Asp net updating database from gridview
Also, do you have a table in your database named Table and a field in that table called Count?
Add With Value("UNID", UNID) if your Selected Value is already an integer you can change this line Dim UNID As Integer = Integer. Selected Value and you still keeping the Execute Non Query line?
At the moment i am testing it on an Access database on my harddrive but it will be used on a SQL Server online when it is working. Command = New Ole Db Command("UPDATE Table SET Count = (Count 1) WHERE UNID = @UNID", Connection) Dim UNID As Integer = Integer.
I've been trying this for 4 days now and just can't seem to get it to work. Command = New Ole Db Command("UPDATE Table SET Count = (Count 1) WHERE UNID = UNID", Connection) Dim UNID As Integer = Integer.
This method can be called only for the row that is currently in edit mode, or for a row that contains a two-way data-bound input control.
For more information about two-way binding expressions, see Binding to Databases.
I have done some searching and it looks like i need to specify exactly what index - apparantly VB doesn't do it automatically like C#.
In the last two demos we'll see how to customize the editing interface for a Grid View column. This article will give you an overview of how to use an ASP.NET Grid View completely, and how to use Row Editing, Row Updating, Row Deleting, Row Command, Row Data Bound, Row Canceling Edit, and Pagination in a Data Grid.Introduction Websites often display thousands of data in a Grid View in ASP. Usually admin can view the registered users on the website, but when an admin wants to edit or delete any fraud or duplicate or damaged data from the table there is a method in Grid View to edit, delete and update. Source Code Save all or press "Ctrl S" and hit "F5" to run the page, the page will look as in the following image: Click on "Edit the Grid View", it will display Textboxes in each cell as in the following image: Edit the value(s) here and click on the Update link, it will update all the data or to remove it click on the "Delete" link above the image shown.Note: One note will be helpful for you, while describing Columns in Grid View if you are using a boundfield then create objects of the control using cells[index] in the rowupdateing event of Grid View, but if you are using controls itself like Label or textboxes etc then use Fincontrol("stringid").
